Adolescent Therapy
Adolescence is a unique and often difficult developmental stage with unique difficulties. In adolescent therapy, I work with teens on problematic behaviors, stress, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, depression, and many other presenting issues. Sometimes, to go along with a teen coming to to see me, I employ family therapy to address issues the client is facing. Today's teenagers are under a great deal of stress and are often silenced by their many social and family pressures. Providing teens with the opportunity to take part in their own counseling allows them to further develop skills which helps to promote healthy independence. Therapy for adolescents and teens can help improve overall functioning at home, school, within the family and with their peers/social environment.
