Family Therapy

Family counseling is not defined by the number of people in the room.  It simply means the view of understanding people within the context of their relationships.  I view families as their own unique systems, complete with their own unique communication styles, structures and ways of dealing with one another.  I like to tell my clients that even one change within the family structure can affect the entire family system.

Family counseling is used along with individual counseling as well.  The family system is the basis for how every person lives life.   Family counseling takes the focus away from any one individual, and shifts the perspective to see the patterns of the family and what may need change.
